Bite Me this weekend, says the Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre

What’s on this weekend in Sidney and around the Saanich Peninsula? Lot’s of things! First of all, if you ever want to learn the latest news and events happening in our community, head over to My Peninsula. They always have plenty of information about events.

In the meantime, here’s what’s happening this weekend.

Just Food Art Exhibition
Held at the Mary Winspear Centre, this is an exhibition on contemporary perspectives on food issues and human rights featuring 19 artists, 38 artworks from 13 countries. Donations welcome.

Win $200 for Dad
Three local fathers are going to receive a shopping spree prize worth $200 when you make a purchase at a participating Sidney Merchants Co-op (here’s a great list of participating businesses). Ask how you can enter the fathers in your family into the Sidney Shopping Spree Draw.

Bite Me
This is a new exhibit at the always awesome Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre about predator-prey relationships.

Be a 1920’s Tourist in Sidney
See Beacon Avenue through the ages at the Sidney Museum. This second year will focus on the development of Beacon Avenue from 1920 to 1950 with photographs, artifacts and articles from the period.

Peninsula Country Market
The Peninsula Country Market is proud to be the longest running Open Air market on South Vancouver Island, and is now in full swing every Saturday from 9-1pm. located on the Saanich Fair grounds, 1528 Stelly’s X Rd. My Peninsula has a great writeup here.

North Saanich Community Market
Go to St. Johns United Church at 10990 West Saanich Rd on Saturday, and check out fresh locally grown produce, crafts, and food. It’s a great way to connect with your local community and buy a lot of fresh food! As always, My Peninsula has a great writeup.
