The Sidney Summer Market is back in full swing. Every Thursday evening from 5:30 to 8:30, Beacon Avenue is closed to traffic and opened to the community with dozens of small stalls selling local crafts and produce. ┬áN0w that the warm weather looks like it’s back for good, the Sidney Summer Market is a great way to spend a summer evening in a fantastic place – Sidney’s downtown!

Organized by the Sidney Business Association, over 200 vendors gather on Beacon Avenue each week to sell gifts, fresh produce, hand-made crafts, great food, and so much more. On top of that, there’s entertainment suitable for families on every block.

Getting bigger and more elaborate every year, the market lines the main street of Beacon Avenue , between First and Fifth Streets. Parking is available on side streets and public lots, and is permitted in municipal lots after 5:00 pm.

This Annual Sidney Summer Attraction is now considered to be one of the best destination events to visit in the area.

To get to the summer market from the Cedarwood, it’s easiest to travel along the seaside walkway starting just after the Anacortes Ferry Terminal. It’s easy to take the winding walkway all the way to Glass Beach at the foot of Beacon Avenue, and then wander all the way up the street.

One thing we’ve noticed is that at this time of year it can get quite warm in Sidney in the evening – the sun can be quite bright and dazzling, so it may be a good idea to bring sunglasses and a light sweater or something that easy to put on or take off, according to the temperature.

Thank you to the Sponsors, Vendors and Shoppers for another great year at the market.
