Stay at our Mount Washington accommodations

Are you hoping to go for a Vancouver Island tour, but are slightly intimidated by the sheer distances? Why not stay at our Mount Washington accommodations! Located about three hours by car north of our Sidney BC hotel, Mt Washington Alpine Resort is true gem little-known outside of the Island featuring many rental properties.

It’s a great place to explore some of the more interesting but remote places on Vancouver Island, such as Campbell River (famous for fishing) and Comox (famous for the Comox Air Show). Nearby Fanny Bay is also the oyster capital of Canada.

Go skiing in winter

Mt Washington is a year around alpine destination and skier’s paradise. In winter, thanks to its geography, Mount Washington receives some of the highest snowfalls in the world (behind Whistler just across the water, and Niseko, in Japan), but what really makes this place special is the deep powder and awe-inspiring alpine to ocean views.

And golf in the winter too – imagine making wide sweeping turns in fresh powder until midday then heading down for a round of golf in Courtney most days of the year.

Go hiking, golfing and biking in summer

In the summer, the snow capped peaks of Strathcona park offers great day hiking and multi day treks or catch the lift to the top of the mountain for a breathtaking view of gorgeous, emerald islands floating on glittering Georgia Strait.
